Overview

Session defaults are organization-wide settings that apply to every new simulator session.

Session timeout

Controls how long a session may go unused before it is automatically ended. Select one of the predefined durations:

• 2 min
• 5 min
• 10 min
• 30 min (default)
• 1 h
• 2 h
• 4 h
• 8 h

The 4 h and 8 h options suit agents that mostly watch a session rather than act on it.

When nobody uses a session for the configured duration, VibeView stops it and releases the device. Use means touching or typing on the device, an agent or script acting on it, a test step, an app reload from vibeview dev, or speaking into its microphone — not watching, reading or polling it (see Session Timeout). A session with no browser tab open (held only by the API, the CLI or the MCP server) never ends for being idle in under five minutes. About a minute before an idle session ends you get a warning: in amber in the status line on the Devices page, as an Ending in countdown on share, embed and collaboration pages, and in the session’s API responses. Using the session again withdraws the warning.

Session permissions

Controls what session users can do inside a running session.

• Install additional Android APKs — When enabled (the default), session users can sideload extra APKs onto Android devices during a session. Disable it to block sideloading; the app under test always installs regardless. Applies to Android sessions only.

Streaming overage

The streaming overage setting is on Plan and usage, next to your streaming minutes.

How to update session defaults

1. Navigate to Settings > Session defaults.
2. To change the timeout, click the desired duration button. The selected option is highlighted.
3. To change the Android APK permission, toggle it between Enabled and Disabled.
4. A Save changes button appears in the page header once you make any modification.
5. Click Save changes to persist your updates.
